Meet Dr. Jeannie Shimane
Dr. (Jeannie) Shimane was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. She obtained her B.S. in Psychology from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA in 1994 and attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston where she received her D.M.D. in 1998. Since childhood she was drawn to the idea of sunny California and realized this dream when she got accepted to General Practice Residency in dentistry at the Department of Veterans Affairs at Martinez/Mare Island. After moving to the Bay Area in 1998 she never looked back.
Dr. Shimane joined the practice in 2003. One of the biggest rewards of having been at the practice so long are the relationships she has developed with the patients and staff over the years. "It's not just about teeth..it's about getting to know the patient as a person." Dr. Shimane has also been an Invisalign provider since 2013 and completed the Progressive Orthodontic Seminars program in 2015. Dr. Shimane is a member of the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association as well as the Catalyst Study Club in Castro Valley.
Outside the office Dr. Shimane manages her household which includes husband Casey, their three children Ben, Grace, and Sam, and two dogs. She enjoys traveling to major cities around the country but her favorite local destinations include Carmel and Tiburon.
